ATW Trial Team Prevails at International Trade Commission

12 December 2013

In an investigation before the United States International Trade Commission, Amin, Turocy & Watson's patent litigation team won a defense victory for its client HiTi, when the judge issued an initial determination finding that the firm's client did not infringe the three asserted patents.

In Inv. No. 337-TA-841, Amin, Turocy & Watson represented HiTi against patent infringement allegations by licensing company Technology Properties Limited ("TPL"). TPL filed a Complaint in the ITC, seeking exclusion of HiTi's professional-grade photograph printers from importation in the United States.

Amin, Turocy & Watson's team was led by partners Vinay Joshi and Andrew Oliver at trial in January 2013, with the final determination issuing in December 2013.  In the weeks leading up to the initial determination, more than one prominent technology company settled while HiTi held fast.  This tenacity paid off when Amin, Turocy & Watson achieved a total victory for HiTi.
