Nathaniel Ari Gilder

Ari Gilder was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2003. He was registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2003. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Colorado College in 1998, and a Juris Doctorate (cum laude) from The University of Michigan Law School in 2003.

Ari has significant experience helping business owners understand the benefits as well as the costs and risks of various IP strategies, as well as preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications. Many of Ari’s clients have grown in size over the years and their intellectual property has become a key company asset.

Ari has had the privilege of working closely with experts in a diverse range of technical areas, including computer software and hardware, blockchain and public/private key cryptographic protocols, Artificial Intelligence (AI), video games, aerospace technologies, laser systems, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) systems, and consumer products.

Ari is the listed inventor on two United States patents, both of which have been the subject of extensive international protection:

  • U.S. Pat. No. 8,897,244, “Viral Quality of Service Upgrade,” issued Nov. 25, 2014.
  • U.S. Pat. No. 9,319,456, “Go Home Feature for Roaming Applications,” issued Apr. 19, 2016.

He is also the author of numerous publications, including:

Ari is a current member of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA). Additionally, he has previously served as chair of the King County Bar Association (KCBA) Intellectual Property Section and the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) Electronics Subcommittee.
