Jordan Scharf prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the electrical, computer, and mechanical arts and provides related opinion work. He works primarily in cellular and telecommunications systems and networks, digital signal processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, imaging and optical systems, and automotive, marine, and aviation systems, and also handles matters in medical devices, motorcycle communication systems, augmented and virtual reality, semiconductors, and Internet of Things devices.

He works directly with inventors and in-house counsel from initial disclosure through allowance, and supports portfolio development for clients filing at volume.

Jordan joined Amin, Turocy & Watson as a law clerk in 2017 and became an associate after graduating from law school in 2020. He earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law with a concentration in Intellectual Property, and holds a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University. While in law school, he worked in Case Western’s Intellectual Property Venture Clinic, counseling early-stage companies on patent strategy.

Jordan is admitted to practice in Ohio and registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and was selected to Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2026 and 2027.
