Patrica S. Murphy
Patrica S. Murphy practices in the area of intellectual property law and is well-versed in matters specifically focused on domestic and foreign patent preparation and prosecution, as well as trademark preparation and prosecution. She protects the rights of companies and individuals through the development of intellectual property strategies. With more than 15 years of experience, Patrica’s practice extends to advising clients in numerous technology industries including telecommunications, electrical engineering and computer science, quantum computing, cloud computing, gaming, computer software and hardware, digital signal processing, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, security, semiconductors and semiconductor chip fabrication, financial services and e-commerce, and mechanical arts Patrica was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 2005 and has been registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 2004. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University in 2001 (summa cum laude), a Juris Doctor from The University of Akron School of Law with a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law in 2005, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property from The University of Akron School of Law in 2014. Since 2007, she has been a member of the Ohio State Bar College. This requires twenty-four hours of continuing legal education per year, twice the number required to maintain a license to practice law in Ohio. Prior to practicing law, Patrica was an electrical engineer/designer for a leading manufacturer of plastic injection molding machinery. |
