Brian Steed

Brian Steed earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1996. Prior to his work in intellectual property, he spent several years as a project engineer at Martin Control Systems Inc., where he designed, programmed, and implemented industrial control and data collection systems for manufacturing and processing facilities throughout Ohio. Brian gained additional experience in his capacity as SCADA Supervisor at American Municipal Power-Ohio, where he programmed and managed the company's state-wide SCADA system used to collect substation metering data and control peak generators throughout the state. Through this work, Brian gained extensive experience with a wide range of PLC and HMI platforms, and developed proficiency in electrical design, Visual Basic programming, network design, and project management.

Since joining Turocy & Watson in 2007, Brian has drawn on these experiences to provide patent preparation and prosecution services in a wide range of fields, including industrial control, electrical and computer engineering, software technology, and telecommunications. In addition to patent preparation and prosecution, Brian has experience in design clearance and invalidity opinion work.

Brian is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
